MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) is the core safety document provided by chemical manufacturers to users, and is essential documentation for enterprise safety management and environmental reviews. Learning to read an MSDS correctly is crucial for cleaning agent selection evaluation and safety management.

The 16 Sections of an MSDS

According to GB/T 16483 standard, an MSDS contains 16 sections, of which the following are most important for purchasers and technical personnel:

Section 3 - Composition/Information on Ingredients: Lists chemical names, CAS numbers, and concentration ranges. Pay special attention to whether it contains restricted substances such as dichloromethane, trichloroethylene, or benzene series compounds.

Section 9 - Physical and Chemical Properties: Includes key parameters such as pH, flash point, boiling point, density, and viscosity. A flash point below 60℃ indicates a flammable liquid requiring special storage management.

Section 11 - Toxicological Information: Describes acute toxicity, skin corrosion, inhalation hazards, etc. Hydrocarbon cleaners typically have low acute toxicity, but ventilation should be noted for long-term exposure.

Section 12 - Ecological Information: Contains biodegradability and aquatic toxicity data, key basis for assessing waste liquid treatment difficulty.

Tansochem provides MSDS compliant with national standards and GHS international standards for all products, along with MSDS interpretation services to help customers improve their safety management systems.
